THE THIEF COMETH NOT BUT TO STEAL, TO KILL AND TO DESTROY!

Beware of the devil.

Have you ever wondered why you don't see people go about declaring their assets publicly or inviting an enemy (The Thief) to come and rub them of their belongings? Why would anyone not make every efforts to protect his life and properties. So says a Yoruba adage that "If a farmer experience a bountiful harvest in his farmland, he cleverly concealed it to avoid devourers.

Just as it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual. Our spiritual life is more real and active than our physical life. When the bible says in John 10:10 that "The thief (devil) cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy." Jesus was by this warning us on our need to watch against spiritual rubber, and he his no any other person than the enemy of our souls.

The bible made us to understand that the purpose why Christ came is to destroys the works of the devil. The works and purpose of the devil is to rub us of our salvation, to reduce the oil and the anointing of God in our life, to make us less effective and useful to God, to make our prayer life week and ineffective, to make our love for God's word grow cold, and above all, to mar the plane of God for our life. But thanks be to God that even though they will fight against us but they shall not prevail against us. Jeremiah 1:19.

Christ Jesus, having laid down his life on the cross, brought us eternal life for those who willaccept and believe on his name. Romans 10:10. Why would one allow christ death to be in vain in his life? Why would one be so unwise to forsake and carelessly trade his salvation away to the devil by inviting him to steal and robe him of his salvation?

Know for sure that you are writing an invitation letter to the devil when you refuses to accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour. You are writing an invitation letter to the enemy of your soul when you fail to pattern your life according to God's instructional manual-The Bible. You are writing an invitation letter to the devil when you fail to follow peace with all men. You are writing an invitation letter to the devil when you fail to live in forgiveness and love with others. You are writing an invitation letter to the devil when you are constantly working in the flesh on not in the spirit for he says "be ye holy as my Father is holy."

Let your new year resolution and prayer from today be "Lord! I want to be like you, inner my heart. Lord! I want to lead an exemplary Christ-like life and finally to be a broken vessel unto honour. Happy New Year!
