Battles Of The Heart

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23.

Why does those the bible show great emphasis on mind renovation, mind control and mind watch? It is because once you are able to win in the battles within, then the battles without is already conquered. until you overcome and silence your internal battles, you may not record maximum success without.

The devil in its cleverness knew that once a believer is made handicap by the battles within, he can achieve little or no success without, hence his strategy to make you live in perpetual fear and depression.

What are these internal battles? They are your positive or negative thought patterns. Proverbs 23:7 says "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee." The internal battles are the fear, worry, anxiety, doubt and depression you must strive to overcome. They should not be welcome at all and must not be allowed to stay.

We are constantly in conflict with internal forces trying to contend with out faith, our joy and hope of glory. There objective is to make you loose focus on God, and once your focus is shifted from your source of joy- Jesus, then defeat will set in.

We have a great task here to play in keeping our heart with all diligence. You mustn't allow your mind to be the devil's dustbin of unhealthy and immoral thoughts because you are the product of your thought. What you think, you will confess, and what you confess, you will become. You see how powerful our thoughts and words are. The bible even confirms these in proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

What do all these teaches us? Discipline of the mind and appropriate uses of our words. Yes! You must make concious effort to watch and guide your mind and thought pattern. When the enemy throws fear and doubt at you, don't speak back in his negative language. But instead, speak faith and victory language in your responses..."In all these things, I am more than a conqueror, I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me, I am fearfully and wonderfully made, it is well with my soul, the Lord shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory, I am not in want because the Lord is my shepherd."

Words are powerful that can create and recreate. When Goliath confronted the children of God, the bible says he was constantly coming out to create fear with his words into the Israelite heart in 1st Samuel 17:8-11 and 23. But David who knew the power of positive spoken words came forth to challenge him and defeated him. And he said; "This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel." 1st Sam. 17:46.

The keys to overcoming and wining in the battles of the heart is linked to Phillipians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.",  and Phillipians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

When you wake up each morning, learn speak life, light and peace into your life, finances, job, career, ministry, family and nation at large. Above all, be mindful of what you watch with your eyes. You will sure have what you say.

Prayer:
Oh Heaven, come into my soul and renovate my mind in Jesus name.
